The Galaxy’s Greatest Comic is heading north next week as it joins the cream of British comics at Thought Bubble 2012!
The annual convention, held in Leeds, will be super Thrill-powered as it plays host to a cosmos of talent from 2000 AD, with special competitions, signings, and panels!
Taking place from 11th – 18th November at venues around Leeds and Bradford, the festival climaxes with a centre-piece two day convention on 17th – 18th November at the huge New Dock Hall and Royal Armouries Museum
In association with our friends at the Travelling Man comic book chain, 2000 AD will be in the main hall with all the latest graphic novels from the House of Tharg. And after the success of last year’s graffiti jam in the main foyer, Best Joined Up are once again collaborating with 2000 AD this year on a huge nine-panel live comic art installation. Come along and watch as the panels are created live, & then brought together to form a giant comic page installation!
There’ll be a fantastic line-up of top 2000 AD artists and writers signing and sketching all weekend, including Rob Williams (Low Life, Judge Dredd), Al Ewing (Zombo, Judge Dredd), Simon Davis (Ampney Crucis), Frazer Irving (Necronauts, Judge Death), Peter Doherty (Judge Dredd), Henry Flint (Zombo, Judge Dredd), Leigh Gallagher (Defoe), Robbie Morrison (Shakara, Nikolai Dante), and Simon Fraser (Nikolai Dante).
Williams, Fraser, Davis, Gallagher, and Morrison will also be discussing 2000 AD’s 35th anniversary at a special panel event on the Sunday, hosted by Stacey Whittle and Iz McAuliffe.
Editor Matt Smith will also be on hand to judge the portfolio competition, which will see Earthlets competing for the honour to get paid work in 2000 AD itself!
Join 2000 AD at Thought Bubble 2012 in Leeds as we celebrate the next 35 years of Thrill-power!
