You've all seen The Secret Project, now the sequel: The Not-So-Secret Project.

Press release, which announces the availability of the public version and then brings us on to the second volume:

Secret Squirrel Undefeated: The Get-Well Carlos Project

In July this year we heard the news that he legendary Carlos Ezquerra was suffering from lung cancer, so we thought it'd cheer him up if we sent him a get well card and thought it'd make sense to say it with comics. The comic morphed into a book as everyone got enthusiastic about it and that book now lies in Carlos' hands.

A public version of this has now been released and can be found at the main download site and a back-up if that doesn't work.

He has sent a couple of messages through Facebook to Mark Howard, the man who made all the magic happen:

Carlos is still recovering from having his lung removed and is currently undergoing the unpleasant grind of chemotherapy, so there is still plenty of opportunity to put a smile on his face. As this was put together in secret and to a tight deadline, there are plenty of people who haven't heard about this or who we never managed to reach in time or who  ran out of time, so there has been interest expressed in doing a second volume. We have decided we might as well go for it and whether it is a book or a comic book will depend on what we get in. The cover has already been greenlit and is being worked on while we speak. So we are  ready to start filling it with your best wishes – as you'll see from the first volume it is fine to send just text and we'll incorporate it into the book. We also have a longer deadline - 1st January 2011 which should make life easier.

Tech specs:

A5 portrait, jpeg or tiff format, 300dpi, CMYK colour. (Try to keep contributions under 3MB, by zipping if necessary.)

I'm on point for this with sharky in full support mode. As I say the cover is being worked on now and we already have a few people interested in providing a page (and some of them are beavering away right now).

A couple of quick things:

• Be sure to let us know what you wanted to be credited as when you submit something.
• If you email the general email address we'll add you to the prospective contributors mailing list - it'll only give out general updates so isn't necessary (when you contribute you'll be added to another list which will keep you abreast of progress)

When I finally found out what the original secret project was all about, I thought it was one of the best things I'd heard of, it reminded me of this:

No reason someone can't take another run at this, I know we nibbled some folks to do an extra job or two in the last one. If anyone has come up with a cunning idea just after the deadline then this is for you, if you want to collaborate with someone else then this is for you, if you want to try and muscle in as Carlos Ezquerra's greatest then... get a tattoo or something, ya big freak (then take a photograph of it and we'll stick it into the second volume, as long as it is outside the general underpant area, ya big freak).
