The wife and I had an absolutely fantastic couple of days at the weekender.
The 2000ad party on Friday was great fun with the Molcher droid presiding fantasticly, ensuring everything ran smoothly with a great sense of fun and playfullness.
The "play your cards right" game and the appearance of John Wagner, Carlos Ezquerra and Tharg-who's trainers gave the suspicion of him being an imposter and well known writer droid where just a few highlights!
Saturday included the awesome spectacle of the Wagner/Ezquerra droids on stage, giving a fascinating talk on their work on the galaxies greatest.
My personal highlight was the signing event-where the two lovely and generous icons had time for a quick chat and I manged to have my graphic novels signed and to get a Dredd sketch from Mr Ezquerra. All of which I shall treasure forever!
A brilliant time and thanks to all for making it so special and memorable!
Good to hear it all worked out well - sharky and I concluded it couldn't have gone better from our perspective.
We will want to see that Dredd sketch!!
Also there from the board was Wayne Simmons, who has been a bit scarce here partly as he has been doing the rounds promoting his latest book. He'll also be at the Cardiff Comic Con, so people there should seek him out and say hello.
There were some other big 2000AD fans around (as well as plenty of newer converts to thrills) - as we were leaving someone said that there was a guy around with a number of high quality copies of early progs he was hoping to get signed and the last winner of the blindfold Dredd sketches showed his portfolio to David Bishop in the late 90s (who apparently told him his work was "crap" - he did do a goo blindfold Dredd so it can't have been that bad

) and he apologised to John Wagner for mistaking him for an event security guard around the same time.
So if you are lurking here and/or have photos from the even, why not delurk and say hello?
