Durham Red
« on: 16 August, 2010, 12:40:33 PM »
Well, I thought I'd just make a start. Very much a work in progress. Hair, suspenders, eyes are just place holder. Legs obviously not done. Everything else needs lots of work.

Maybe I'm not looking closely enough, but you seem to have missed something out...

Johnnystress - Thanks. Long way to go yet

TordelBAck - Oh no you can't! I just haven't put the rubber wrinkles in yet...

The Doctor Alt 8 - well I'm 43 so I think I've got passed that stage.  :| I spent  along time going between a slightly more realistic and the more elongated figure from the comics. I settled on this as the longer bodied just didn't feel right but I may give her more modelesque(?) proportions later. Her only mutation was the vampirism so she was supposed to be naturally proportioned. I'm tempted to do a totally emaciated version too. but the main goal for now is to get it into a game engine and looking good.

The Cosh - well I've missed a lot .. its not finished   :D

vzzbux - thanks I think.  :)

Don't get me wrong... that was just a gentle tease.... I am just in awe of all you creative types.

Although I could see some less mature types thinking she is... underdeveloped. Which time period will you be basing this on?

 :D  No worries.

This is based on the Scarlet Cantos. I'm not following religiously as every panel is different but I'll give it a shot.

So how does this work? Is she wearing suspenders over a rubber leotard, or rubber leggings over suspenders?

Well thats the tricky bit. It took me a while to work it out and I still don't think I'm right.
But she's essentially got rubber/pvc/leather trousers on that go up over her hips. (in one of Mark H's drawings he's written that they're leather but he always seems to paint them like they're rubber or PVC) Over them are black stockings and suspenders. On her hips she has the holster/belt thing that also attaches to the cod/lady piece (?) which lies OVER the suspenders. Then there's the bodice which stretches down from her ears (she has some kind of translation device/thing over each ear  ), fastens to make the collar, then continues all the way down to just below her navel where there's two press studs fastening it to either the belt, trousers or the codpiece thing. At the back its shortened to just over the suspender belt.
That's what I think anyway. I know its probably a bit in depth but I needed to try and work it out so I could build it.

Adrian ..   :D  I'm just working my way down ...   And keks! I thought that was just a Scouse phrase! Not heard that for years.

I've got some more pics but they're too big to put up here with the size limit so I've got them here. I'd appreciate some advice from anyone in the know.. I've had to do a mish mash of designs from different images as they're not always very clear.

Cheers.

Keep bringing the updates, Patrick! Great stuff. To post images on here without screwing up the format, you can go up to 750 pix wide (800 if you don't mind your avatar/details being squished to the right)

OK .. here's one, but you can't see much at this size. Still very much a work in progress and I'm looking for advice from elsewhere on the wrinkles and how the straps would all be interacting with the material. I'm getting myself confused.
