2000AD Graphic Novels "Phone Books" Question
« on: 03 May, 2010, 05:44:04 PM »

Hi guys,

I have just started my collection of the Judge Dredd Case Files and Restricted Files and I want to start a collection of the other books that have been released in the same "Phone Book" type format that have the same style of cover/spine to match the case files.

Could anyone help me out with my list of all the books released in this format to date, so far I have the following listed:

Judge Dredd: The Complete Case FilesJudge Dredd: The Restricted Files

Robo Hunter: The Droid Files

Rogue Trooper: Tales of Nu-Earth

Strontium Dog: Search/Destroy Agency Files + The Final Solution?

The Complete Nemesis The Warlock

The Complete Ro-Busters

Thanks in advance.
JSouth

Hi,

There are 2 ace trucking volumes - can't think of any other thick TPBs off the top of my head, but there are quite a few in that size themed around artists, characters or plotlines in Dredd for example.

Cheers

Judge Anderson PSI Files

Harlem Heroes is out soon, too.

Thanks Steve,

I did see the 2 Ace Trucking ones but the covers looked different from the Case Files, you dont know if the spines match do you?

I know it sounds silly but I dont want to go buying them and they re-release them with new covers because the case files are selling so well.

Thanks yes forgot about the Judge Anderson one will add that to my list.

Is the Harlem Heroes one going to match the case files covers?

I wouldn't worry about matching more than volumes of the same series. The three Nemesis volumes, for example, are Case Files-type phone books with a similar cover layout (to the Dredd books) but the design of the spines is very different. It doesn't make the Case Files or Nemesis books look any less awesome on your shelf but it's clear that they're different series.

Somebody will probably be along in a bit with a photo.

One of us.  One of us.  The Ace Trucking volumes work fine with the rest on my shelf - each  series is a bit different (e.g. RoBusters or Nemesis), but the overall aesthetic is consistent.

That's what I was about to say - yes the design of the separate series all vary but they're all beautifully designed and though each series is distinct they all look like they belong to the same 'family'.

Thats great thanks guys, I will add the two Ace Trucking ones to my list and the forthcoming Harlem Heroes.

Now I just need to keep my fingers crossed that a few of them go to re-print as it appears quite a few of the "Phone Book" Graphic Novels are out of print and sold out everywhere. For example books 3 of both Judge Dredd and Nemesis the Warlock have been impossible to find :'(

The graphic novels editor gave a podcast interview recently and said that a few books are currently out of print and they WILL be reprinted but they can only do a certain amount titles at a time. Dredd Case Files are the biggest seller so those are priority for reprinting.

You may have to wait for a few of them to be in print again, but you'll get them in time.
