Warrior Fanzine
« on: 05 March, 2010, 11:56:10 PM »
Just wondering if anyone here has copies or scans of the Warrior fanzine that Dez Skin published in the mid seventies, and the merged with a few issues of FA?

Cheers

David

It was a small press done by Skinn before he started out House of Hammer, and a as mentioned it mixed IPC reprints with new material I think it contained material by BWS and Steve Parkhouse.

I knew this place would come up with the goods, cheers Davy ill put a bid on now.

Is that a scan off a copy that you own Garageman?

There's also a copy of Fantasy Advertiser incorporating Warrior available from Dez Skinn's own ebay shop that might be worth a bid

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FANTASY-ADVERTISER-incorporating-WARRIOR-59-1976-nm_W0QQitemZ290337093371QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Books_Comics_Magazines_Comic_Magazines_ET?hash=item43997076fb

I think there were only half a dozen issues of Warrior in the 70's before it merged

Along similar lines, does anyone have a copy of the Warrior flipbook that was given away with Comics International once?
It's the only back copy Dez doesn't sell!

The 15p Warrior shown in the picture was pretty much just reprint stuff, the ebay sale on the link is the 80's Warrior which any self respecting collector should have - it introduced Marvelman/ Miracleman to a modern audience, and had V for Vendetta, Axel Pressbutton, and Father Shandor in, written and drawn by the best British talent around at the time - Alan Moore, David Lloyd, Alan Davis, Steve Dillon, Steve Moore, and the rest.

If you don't have them - buy them! You really won't regret it. It's one of the best comics ever.

Anyone know what the difference between the above and this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WARRIOR-mega-buy-all-18-available-issues-in-one-lot_W0QQitemZ290404725731QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Books_comics_Magazines_UK_Comics_ET?hash=item439d7873e3#ht_864wt_941 is?

Thanks in advance.

Some quotes from that link:

"WARRIOR mega buy: all 18 available issues in one lot!"

"This lot consists of issues #2 to 17 and #22 to 23 - all original first editions from 1983/84."

I mean, what? And weren't there about 25 issues?

26 issues and there were only ever first editions. The 18 issues only refers to what the auction is offering not how many there actually are.

And yet reffers to "All 18 issues".

Crazy!
