Welcome to the board!

For Dredd related material, start with the Judge Dredd Case Files.
Characters like Slaine, ABC Warriors, ect all have collections available from places like Amazon.
Start picking up the weekly Prog is a really good way to start too.

Hi there and wlecome! You don't mention what Dredd you've already seen. The Casefiles are reprinting ALL the Dredd stories, starting from 1977, in big phone-book style volumes. It wil be a long time before they catch up to current output! The first few volumes may seem a little dated to modern eyes, but I often recommend Vol 5 as a good one to start with as it's got loads of whacky future-crime stories, the 2nd (and best) Judge Death story and the classic Block mania/Apocolypse War epic.

As for the slimmer trades, The Pit, Brothers of the Blood, America and Origins are all well worth a look.

Doesn't really matter where you start, but I'd definitely recommend a mix of old and new - hard to appreciate either without the other.  For new (-ish), I'd suggest starting with the colour TPBs of America, Total War and The Pit - this is a good mix of police procedurals, crazies, explosions and more thoughtful looks at Dredd's world, while introducing a lot of the current supporting cast.   For old, Casefiles 4 and 5 set the scene nicely bookended by two great Dredd epics in The Judge Child and The Apocalypse War, and without getting derailed by the frequent clangers that can be encountered in the earlier casefiles.   If you get all that down you, and still have an appetite, the world is your oyster.

Oh, and don't forget to pick up the weekly.  That's really the best way to start, but you'll be getting a lot more than just Dredd.

And welcome!

What TB said is emerging as a pretty solid consensus for those Dredd virgins (actually has anyone popped Old Chinny's cherry?) where you get a pretty damn solid blast of Dredd stories. You can then fill in the others or ask more questions and we can direct you to other stories depending on what you liked from what you've seen.
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!
