I just downloaded the latest two progs today, so late with my review. I wasn't going to bother except.... this was a pretty good Prog!
Cover: Decent enough, but I wish it had was related to the actual contents as many of the characters in the foreground weren't actually in this episode. Can certainly see the weakness of seeing this in digital form as we don't really get the benefit of the wraparound cover. Can view two pages at once, but not really last and first (which would be front and back covers.)
Thrills of the Future: Interesting ad there for The Life and Death of Johnny Alpha. Looks like two other characters reminiscing so does this mean that they're going with the original continuity I wonder? Or will there be a twist.
Dredd: Nice start to the new arc. Quite an amusing episode too with the Dredd spit-out tea through nose moment and PJ's fantasy.
Stickleback: Nice episode story-wise but I struggle with the art. It's not bad... I just find it difficult to make somethings out. Foreground images seems insubstantial, almost transparent.
ABC Warriors: I've found this chapter a bit touch and go but this episode had me laughing out loud. Godpleton is Rojaws. Dear me. That whole exchange between Mek-Quake Ro-Jaws and Blackblood was hilarious. The Pineapples thread should have been paced a bit better though. (i.e. show the earlier scene of him dashing off last prog, then appearing this prog. Considering distance, etc. I guess there's an overlap in events between the two progs though, but even so.)
Terror Tales: Pea Patch Podlings: I found it all rather predictable (although I liked the gag at the very end of the man's soul being self-aware after being 'gobbled up') but it was a good little tale. And why is the name 'Pea patch Podling' creepy in itself? I know it's a take on the Cabbage Patch Dolls, but the 'podling' bit creeps me out for some reason.
Nikolai Dante: I wonder, did Lulu just have her critters on the stun setting. I know these guys have a Wolverine like regen thing going on with their crests, but I'd imagine a whole bunch of critters eating your vital organs would finish you in time. I guess the wench likes to have time to gloat. Cracking action filled episode though. And I'm glad the two underdog blokes got to save the day.
