American Reaper

Clint Langley mentioned this forthcoming venture with Pat Mills, while I was having a chinwag with him at the recent SFX Weekender.
It's big screen bound too.

Short news piece here:

I wonder if this means Clint will be off the prog for a while? Do we know how many books The Volgan Wars is meant to be? Either that or he works at some incredible rate????

I'm just full of questions this afternoon aren't I!

As that news report makes clear, this was announced in mid-2008 and we still haven't seen the actual graphic novel. The good thing must be that it surely means he has been beavering away on it in his spare time and we need see no break in his 2000AD work. However, I do wonder what form it was in back then? A script and some concept sketches? Full page art?

Did he say if there was an announcement due because this all went very quite after the initial announcement Mrs Sting was working on the film angle.

So yes, lots of questions from me too ;)
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

If he mentioned it at the weekender, it's a fair bet that at least the book is still go.  Otherwise he'd not have mentioned it, right?

I'm sure he said that book 4 was the last in the series and that he had just finished it.

"It's rare for us to sign up to a project based on just a proposal, but the opportunity to work with proven talent like Pat and Clint from such an early stage, on a project with so much potential, was just too good to pass up," Styler said.

Why not adapt Sláine or Nemesis then?
