Credit where credit is due.
« on: 18 January, 2010, 06:49:45 AM »
I note that this website credits Gordon Rennie with writing SLEIGHBELLS IN THE SKY in 2000 AD # 710 back in 1990. In actual fact, I am the writer of this 2 page THARG'S FUTURESHOCKS tale - I am quite sure that Mr Rennie will be relieved to see me finally stand up and take the blame, thus freeing him from this blot on his reputation.

Thanks for the correction Gordon. I've updated BARNEY's database (changing droidcode GORDONR to GORDONRO) but someone else will have to do the 20000AD Online edit.

Greetings to everyone. What do you think the chances are that Tharg may read this and give a former long-term contributor a complimentary subscription to 2000 AD?

Perhaps some good person will give Tharg a prod, and tell him that lettering droid Kid Robson is truly deserving of a free subscription to 2000 AD (for all his past services)? Go on - I don't want to have to beg him myself.

I'm sure one of us will.  Eventually.

Welcome Kid.  Nice to see you.

Ah, support from discerning readers. Thanks. Here's a question for anyone who wants to think about it - what do you consider the best period in 2000 AD's history - and why?

The first 100 Progs, because I'd never stuck with a comic for so long before and if I hadn't - well, just think what I'd have missed out on to date.

The last 150, because the idea of stopping simply hasn't occured to me and nearly EVERY prog has had something other than Dredd that's worked for me.  Often it's had FOUR things other than Dredd that's been, for me at least, brilliant.  Most consistent period for my mind.

Still sat the 80's but the past few years have come pretty close and the run is still going.

Anyone remember the Judge Dredd story where JD rescues a cat or a rat with an eyepatch (I think) from a research laboratory? It's from about 1979 perhaps - I just wondered if said animal ever made a return appearance?
