Forgot about the cursed earth article in my rundown. Really liked it. If the whole article got printed at some point in the Meg I'd buy it (I don't currently). Or how about in the Christmas prog? As long as we don't start getting text articles in the prog instead of strips. I stopped buying the meg for that reason.
Fear leads to doubt which leads to the worst case scenario.

I love my John Wagner Weekly Featuring Kingdom. It's great and so is my postman!

That's top Dredd and Stront, with amazing, exciting, gorgeous Kingdom. I'm afraid I've lost track of the other two stories (I may try a re-read when they're finished), but three thrillers is plenty for me.
I might read the text bit later, but probably not. I buy 2000AD for comic strips, not academic articles.

Cover - even recycled, this is really good. also liked the hint of green.

Dredd - This story keeps getting better. lots of twists and unexpected things going on. Yes, the tracking of pink-eye gang has an air of predictability, but I know Wagner's too good to let me get comfortable.

Road to hell - ok. Clearly a small part of a larger essay, but doubt I'll read the whole thing when published.

Shakara - Flint is amazing and weird. Loved those little aliens riding around in skulls!

Kingdom - This strip just doesn't seem to go wrong. Love it!

Necrophim - This seems to be the marmite of strips on the board at the mo. And unlike marmite I'm really enjoying this story, and want to know where itr goes after the exciting end this week.

Stront - not much happened this week, just a oooooooooooh - big finale coming soon! but am still enjoying this.

I see Grant has a new weapon in his war against Diamond. With the mighty one onside what could go wrong?

Well, that would be nice.  We *did* get the long-missing "July" pack on the East Coast last Wednesday, so we're all the way up to prog 1646 now.  I'm really enjoying The Red Seas, even if the timescale is confusing me a little bit.

Dredd: Enjoying this: skullduggery at Justice Dept, JD just able to take it and eye suckin muties.

Shakara: No idea but lurving that alien.

SD:dare I say nothing new here? I suppose that once someone has ben killed off there can't be much character progression?

Kingdom: looking forward to where this goes, big reveal soon me thinks?

Necrophilia-ka-ka-ka: just not getting it, too hard work perhaps? telephones and swords? accords between heaven and hell,  a hell that seems like some R.E Howard/Conan village, sorry ARTIC-B, not my bag.

Old skool thrills all the way this week.

Dredd on cover looking like he means business - check
Dredd Epic with Wagner on top form - check
Shakara/Nemesis alien mentalness with class art - check
Kingdom reading very much like its a story from years back (and I mean that in a good way) - check
Strontium Dog kicking arse - check
Necrophim really needs to be replaced with Rogue Trooper or Ace Trucking to make my analogy work - Fail
Letters page that has a photo/illustration - check

Apart from Necrophim this really did remind me of golden age 2000AD and has pretty much reignited my excitement comic wise.

So job well and truly done. Cheers Tharg.
Hmm, just pretend I wrote something witty eh?

(I) wonder ... if John's long term plan is for MC1 to one day have a Chief Judge Beany?

Well she would have to be a judge for another 20 years or so for that to seem plausible, by which time they would be due for that massive nuclear holocaust in 2150...

Oh I dinno Rich. It's plausable that Francisco fucks up, Dredd returns, is offered the top job but suggests a more worthy/willing candidate in Beaney, just like he did with Volt. That's what happens in my 'la la la, I'm not listening to any commonsense arguents' head! I love the original America so much that this could be the perfect epilogue to it so common sense flies out the window!

Well if its any consolation Jim I'm on a parent run for the next couple of days and left Progless this morning with no hope of my Prog until I get back Wednesday afternoon. At the earliest...
