It takes between 3.5 and 4.5 hours, according to the Internet (which turns out to be a very useful tool for looking things up).

Hell-Trekkers, our fellow forum member The monarch would like to have a trip back in the Rad Wagon after the con on Sunday night. I put it to you, as we have a spare seat, shall we let him join us.
I'm quite okay with this and he'll become a territorial Hell-Trekker, plus I'm sure we can cut a deal with him when we are all up there.
What say you all?

Finished all the maps and times for the route.
Here are the timings between pick ups and the milage, obeying the speed limit

Maidstone to Gatwick:-      41.2 miles - 40 minutes
Gatwick to Mikes abode:-   65.9 miles - 1 hour & 4 minutes
Mikes abode to M Keynes:- 43.4 miles - 44 minutes
M Keynes to Manchester:-   152 miles - 2 hours & 18 minutes
Manchester to Glasgow:-  210.9 miles - 3 hours & 6 minutes
Glasgow to Inverness:-     181.8 miles - 3 hours & 58 minutes

Grand total of 695.2 miles and 11 hours & 50 minutes

Hmm... Yes, possibly my sarcasm was misjudged, and for that I apologise to The Monarch.

My excuse, such as it is, is that I had just spent two and a half hours on the phone to a computer-illiterate friend, trying to talk him through the complexities of Microsoft Word's Mail-merge function. This is a guy who still uses one hand to push the mouse around and the other hand to press its buttons, so as you can imagine I was pretty fraught by the time we got it working.

He was desperate to get Mail-merge to work because he had loads of letters to send out to the members of some club he's involved with. Imagine my delight when, in the end, it turned out that instead of the word "loads" he could have used the more accurate word "four".

I dunno that last drawing was a bit unhinged - just the sort of thing they show on the news to illustrate a warped mind after 9 people are found slain on a mini bus with CF Rules  (Cannon Fodder not Commando Forces you understand) carved into their foreheads.

Oh what the hey his few creds will buy extra pringles and it'll be fresh ears for all my Anne Robinson and letters based chat.

Oh, that...  ;)

That, er... Yeah, that's actually a typo. It should be "Go on", because I'm Irish and it's a Father Ted reference or something equally plausible.

In fact -- Wait! What's that over there?!
