LARF 4.0: Design me a Tattoo and WIN £50

I'll be forty in May next year and to celebrate spending 33 of those years with 2000AD I want a tattoo of a Justice Department Eagle at the top of my right arm. I mentioned this to Bolt and RAC at Bristol and they suggested I put it up as a competition on the board. So here goes the brief...

Design must be a JD Eagle logo in one colour only, black, I'd like it to be stylised. If you remember 'That' film, Dredd had one with a barcode on it - I'm not into that. Instead I'd like something along those lines but what you think the real Dredd would have. I kinda like the Eagle the guys have used in the background of the latest Judge Minty pics, but something maybe with a bit more detail. No names on it and I would think it needs to be about 50 - 70mm wide.

I'm offering £50 cash as a main prize as I think it's only fair.

If anyone has any questions, ask away. If anyone has any other suggestions then I'm open to ideas.

Here are some varieties on a theme... If you like one of these but you prefer parts from others, just let me know - it's all editable and interchangeable in illustrator (within reason).

For £50 you could possible commission a Dredd artist to do you one surly? Or even ask Rufus very, very nicely to look in to how much it would cost for one of the greats to do one. Just a thought.

sorry it's a tad delayed. in the course of this project we've had another baby, moved house, and other minor impediments that have relegated this comp to the back burner. But no more as the big 40 is steadily approaching towards the fifth of May....

PS: I quite like number 3, but maybe with the tail and legs from number 8, but not sure what should go in the shield, and also wondering whether the stars in the shield will hold...
