Been meaning to try a different look for Dredd's helmet (oo-err!) so I thought I'd give it a go.

Pencils only took about seven minutes:

So I decided to ink them ... which tool quite a bit longer than the remaining eight minutes, so I stuck the result up on my dA page instead. Click here for inks.

Cheers!

Hi. First post!

This took just under twenty minutes what with the inking and all. I might need to try again, and give Dredd a bit less of a pointy chin...

Looking good Shetland. Yeah, you might wanna up the chin to visor ratio, but I really like how you've inked the visor itself, really unusual (In a brilliant way)

Done in Painter 11 using the Gouache brushes.Don't think I'll be able to colour up my entry for the 'Alien' comp. Too much going on I'm afraid and most of it bad.

Who are you? What right have you to storm in here drawing Judge Dredd as if you were some kind of professional or something?

Cheers for that Mr. Grimm, I'll be brushing up on my Dredd anatomy and trying again.

did this whilst watching corri. I've decided that I'm going to do more sketching instead of just waiting for the monthly comps.... I think it's got a bit of an Anthony Williams feel to it. Feck knows whats happened to his bottom lip!!

I nip away from the internet for a bit, when I come back this thread is full of cracking pieces and even encouragement from Jock!

I know, I know.  You want me to leave again.  Not happening.  Brilliant stuff here - congrats to all concerned, I'll have to keep a closer eye on things....

How hard is it to get in under the 15 minute mark?

I fell back to relying on McMahon style muscle memory to paint a head in under half an hour which just felt like cheating....
