I'm enjoying these dispatches about the lack of attention and consideration shown by builders, especially when they come from people who themselves have a professional interest in construction. I always like an insider's view; it sounds less like nimby whingeing then!
I'm glad to say I haven't had to have the builders in for a while (although the reason why is I've had neither the time nor the money!), but all the builders I use do a terrific job. I'm also glad to say there's no building work going on in properties adjacent to mine. Those upset by minor acts of vandalism will be aghast to learn that the owner of the house next door, who tarted up the property in the hope of selling but has since given up and moved tenants in again to weather the storm, decided it was a good idea to give that house's Victorian glazed porch tiles a fresh coat of white gloss!
