The taste of raw egg.........

......enveloped my taste buds as I was hoeing into a piece of chocalate cake I had made this morning.

I must have got a really bad portion of cake where I hadn't really mixed the egg into the mixture. Anyway It just tasted really funney. Normally raw eggs aren't so bad by themselves. Just don't add them to chocalate cake. Unless they are going to be mixed in properly. The cake itself was bait too rich.

It was third cake I had made in the last two days. The first tasted okay. The icing was alittle two runny though. It must have been good though. None of it's left.

The second I haven't touched yet. Though I think it may be okay, even better, as I had paid it more attention in preparation and cooking.

Though I had haven't quite mastered the art making icing that holds together.

Last week I made a scary Claudius from Pier Zero/Harvey from Donnie Darko Jack O'Lantern (not as thrilling as last years Tharg) and with the flesh I made some Pumpkin Soup. It was very pleasant.

I too made pumpkin soup (and carved a nice spider in a web as chosen by the boy), soup was quite nice and had half of jar of Pattacks in it for taste...

Can you get 'not perfect' jars cheap from the factory-shop like you can with the Pot Noodles down here?

Jesus! What constitutes a "not perfect" Pot Noodle?
You can get bags of broken Caramel wafers from the Tunnock's factory in Uddingston, but you wont once you see the monsters that make them!

not-perfect in this case normally means not enough or too much in the pot...so you have to judge the water a bit more carefully...long time since I had one (you can tell it's been a long time as I quite fancy one right now...)

Nah, you can't get things like that from the factory cause they give them away to local charitable institutions. Which is fair enough.

Thing is thast I started cooking this chocalte cake for about ten minutes before I realised I didn't mix the egg in. So I got it out of the oven and put in in. The mix was still soft, so it seeemd okay.


I ate most of the cake before discovered the party where it mixed with the egg. Fuuny thing is tat part of the cake taste like a raw, rotten egg.

I ate that also. But not all at once.

There are still two pieces left from the thrid one which is the one that had the eggy taste to it.
