Durham Red: The Scarlet Cantos, written by Dan Abnett

Dan Abnett

Dan Abnett is the co-creator of 2000 AD series Atavar, Badlands, Sancho Panzer and Sinister Dexter. He has also written Black Light, Downlode Tales, Durham Red, Flesh, Future Shocks, Judge Dredd, Pulp Sci-Fi, Roadkill, Rogue Trooper, The VCs, Vector 13 and Venus Bluegenes, as well as The Scarlet Apocrypha and Wardog for the Megazine. A prolific creator, Abnett has also written for Marvel, Dark Horse and DC Comics. He is the author of twenty novels for the Black Library, including the bestselling Gaunt's Ghosts series. His most recent work outside the Galaxy's Greatest Comic is DC's Legion and Superman, and Wildstorm's Mr Majestic. Dan Abnett was voted Best Writer Now at the 2003 National Comic Awards.

Charlie Adlard

Charlie Adlard made his debut pencilling Judge Dredd in the eponymous Megazine; since then, he's also illustrated Armitage and Judge Hershey in the Meg, and Judge Dredd, Nikolai Dante, Pulp Sci-Fi and Rogue Trooper in 2000 AD. His most recent work for the Galaxy's Greatest Comic is the official sequel to Invasion!, the hard-hitting Savage.

Beyond 2000 AD, Adlard has illustrated Astronauts in Trouble, Codeflesh, DC/Vertigo's The Establishment, Shadowman, The X-Files, and the graphic novel White Death.

Mick Austin

Artist Mick Austin is perhaps better known for his acclaimed book jacket illustrations rather than for his comics work. However, in addition to assorted covers and pin-ups, he has contributed to several 2000 AD series — Future Shocks, Indigo Prime, Judge Anderson, Judge Dredd, Tales of the Doghouse, Terror Tales, Urban Strike and Vector 13. He was also the artist behind the controversial 'Judge Corey' story in 2000 AD Sci-Fi Special 1989, featuring the titular Judge's suicide.
